About Inverted AI

Inverted AI is a fast growing startup building the future of autonomous vehicle (AV) testing through generative AI. Spun out of the University of British Columbia and backed by Yaletown Partners and Inovia Capital, we create intelligent models that simulate human-like driving behavior, enabling companies to test autonomous systems in complex, realistic environments.

Position Overview

Data is the cornerstone of any AI system, and Inverted AI operates the largest in the world drone-based traffic data collection pipeline. In this role, you'll take the primary responsibility over the existing in-house infrastructure and gradually improve it to be more reliable, scalable, and cost effective. You'll be working closely with the annotation team and data scientists, enabling them to ensure high quality and quantity of the produced data.

Key Responsibilities

Orchestrate data processing tasks in Airflow
Manage relevant computational resources and recommend additional infrastructure investments
Manage a PostgreSQL server and database schemas
Design efficient export formats and produce datasets using them
Build and maintain data evaluation infrastructure
Work with ML engineers, data scientists and annotators to improve data quality and optimize relevant workflows

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar
Professional experience working with large scale data pipelines
Experience optimizing performance of distributed systems
Basic Linux system administration skills
Passion for learning new technologies and evangelizing their use
Must be located in commutable distance to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Preferred Qualifications

Background or interest in autonomous vehicles, ADAS, AI/ML, or simulation.
Proven ability to work in fast paced, startup environments.
Experience interacting with external clients and technical stakeholders.
Development experience, particularly with C++, GitHub, Python, and PyTorch projects.
Research project management experience.
